* Prosecutor-general Rodrigo Janot has once again called for the arrest of the disgraced former federal deputy of the ruling Partido do Movimento Democrático Brasileiro (PMDB) Rodrigo Rocha Loures. He stands accused of processing the bribes paid by meatpacking firm JBS to government officials, which were allegedly endorsed by President Michel Temer. Rocha recently lost his seat in congress, making his arrest more likely since he is no longer protected by special ‘privileged’ judicial status.
