The central bank (Banxico) has revised up its GDP growth forecast for the year from 1.3%-2.3% to 1.5%-2.5%. A Banxico statement said that the move answered to the favourable economic performance of the domestic economy observed in the January-March period, in which economic activity dynamically expanded leading to GDP growth in the first quarter being higher than anticipated (2.8% year-on-year).
