Bolivia: The Chinese government has donated 570 security cameras to the Bolivian police to be used in the cities of La Paz, El Alto, Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz, to combat crime. Of these, 270 cameras will be used in El Alto, which has the highest homicide rate in Bolivia – at 27.4 per 100,000 inhabitants – well above the 8.6 per 100,000 average for the country in 2016.
