* The national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new inflation data which shows that national inflation rate in the first half of March increased by 6.17% year-on-year, higher than consensus forecasts and the highest preliminary monthly inflation rate for eight years. An Inegi report notes that the overall increase in prices over the period was driven by increases in prices in transport (14.44%); food, drinks, and tobacco (7.06%); and in restaurants and hotels (5.38%).
