The serious political crisis derived by the efforts of supporters of President Horacio Cartes to amend Paraguay’s constitution to introduce presidential re-election so that he could seek another term next year [RBS-17-04] may have been dispelled. But in the aftermath of the crisis the country’s political parties are now trying to bridge the deep internal divisions produced by the crisis.
