Argentina: President Mauricio Macri has signed a series of bilateral agreements with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, among which are the development of Chinese financed infrastructure projects in Argentina worth some US$17bn. Among the most significant projects on which Macri and Xi signed off during their meeting in Beijing are the building of two new nuclear powerplants, the building of a new solar power plant, and the overhauling of the ‘San Martín’ and ‘Belgrano’ freight railway lines.
