Defence Minister Raúl Jungmann has said that Brazil is preparing “contingency plans” to strengthen the shared border with Venezuela and brace itself for an influx of new immigrants as political instability worsens in the Andean country. “We are worried from a defence point of view but there are also humanitarian concerns,” Jungmann said.
