State of siege approved in two Guatemalan municipalities
Development: On 15 May, Guatemala’s 158-member unicameral legislature approved a presidential decree which declared a 30-day state of siege in two municipalities, Ixchiguán and Tajumulco, both located in San Marcos department which borders Mexico.
