* Ahora, a local civil-society group, has presented a formal complaint before Mexico’s national electoral institute (INE) denouncing the suspected diversion of federal government funds, and irregular funds by the Mexican subsidiary of Spanish construction firm OHL, to the electoral campaign of Alfredo del Mazo Maza, the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) in the Estado de México (Edomex). Ahora presented 150 pages of documents and other evidence that Del Mazo’s campaign ahead of the 4 June gubernatorial elections allegedly received at least M$3.7bn (US$198m) in irregular financing.
