URUGUAY: Nin performs balancing act over Venezuela

The ramifications of Venezuela’s political and economic crisis are being felt in Uruguay. Not only has the crisis caused serious diplomatic tension between the Uruguayan and Venezuelan governments but it has also caused domestic political ructions between the administration of President Tabaré Vázquez and the opposition, while driving a wedge between the ruling left-wing Frente Amplio (FA) coalition.
