Ecuador: Foreign Trade Minister Juan Carlos Cassinelli has said that Ecuador’s non-oil exports reached US$11.3bn in 2016, with US$2.83bn worth of these exports going to the European Union (EU), the main market for Ecuador’s non-oil exports. Noting that the new bilateral trade agreement signed with the EU came into full effect in January, Cassinelli said that the government expects that the level of these exports to the EU will significantly increase this year.
