* The authorities in Puebla state have reported that a clandestine tap in an oil pipeline belonging to the state-owned oil firm, Pemex, has caught fire. According to the authorities the fire detected in the municipality of Acajete is now being controlled by local firefighters. The incident comes despite the fact that the federal government announced the deployment of additional federal security forces to Puebla to clamp down on oil theft from Pemex pipelines being carried out by the so-called ‘Huachicoleros’, groups of organised criminals dedicated to oil theft.
