Nicaragua: Renewed concerns about armed anti-government groups

Two deadly clashes which took place last month between the military and alleged drug traffickers have reignited concerns about the presence of armed anti-government groups in Nicaragua. The incidents have again subjected the military and the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN) government led by President Daniel Ortega to fresh criticism regarding the authorities’ response.
