Argentina: The latest inflation figures from the national statistics institute (Indec) show that the consumer price index (IPC) increased by 2.4% month-on-month in March. The March inflation figure was higher than expected by the markets, prompting the central bank (BCRA) to increase its benchmark interest rate from 24.75% to 26.25% in a bid to attenuate inflationary pressures.
