Wanted: one fugitive former president

Former president Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006) is wanted for questioning by Peruvian authorities over corruption allegations. Toledo stands accused of accepting US$20m in bribes from Brazilian construction company Odebrecht during the course of his presidency in exchange for awarding it lucrative public works contracts – allegations that Toledo vehemently denies. Peru’s office of the attorney general issued an arrest warrant for Toledo on 10 February and has since offered a US$30,000 reward for his recapture.
