Mexico: Internal security law put on hold

Plans to introduce a new internal security law, which have been under discussion in the Chamber of Deputies, have been paused, with the main political parties agreeing to make time to hear the opinions of a wide cross-section of civil-society organisations before finalising draft proposals. The decision comes as opposition to the idea has gathered strength.
