Escondida mining dispute drags on in Chile

Development: On 14 February Chile’s labour ministry announced that a meeting scheduled for today (15 February) between representatives from ‘Escondida’, the world’s largest copper mine (controlled by Australian multinational BHP Billiton) and its workers, who went on strike on 9 February, had been suspended.
