Journalists are still being killed in Honduras

The New Year started with yet another brutal assassination of a well-known journalist in Honduras. According to the Honduran national human-rights commission, 69 journalists or media workers have been killed in Honduras since 2003, with only four cases investigated. The country is considered one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist, according to the US-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). In office since January 2014, and seeking another term in November, President Juan Orlando Hernández is accused of paying insufficient attention to the problem.
