*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has announced that the country registered a trade surplus of US$921m in September, marking the 22
nd consecutive month of positive trade balances. September’s surplus was down from a surplus of US$1.44bn in August but up from the surplus of US$907m registered in July. In September 2025 exports totalled US$8.13bn, up 16.9% year-on-year, while imports totalled US$7.21bn, up 20.7% year-on-year. Argentina’s most valuable exports in September were manufactured agricultural products, totalling US$2.98bn (+11.2% year-on-year). China was the country’s top export market, receiving US$1.29bn of exports in September, up 201.7% year-on-year, surpassing Brazil with US$1.17bn, down 11.1% year-on-year, and the European Union (EU) with US925m, up 9.6%. China also accounted for the most imports, totalling US$1.82bn, followed by Brazil on US$1.72bn, and the EU with US$999m.
