*Ecuador’s state oil company, Petroecuador, has announced the results of a spot sale of crude which earned the company over US$700m. Petroecuador announced that in a bidding process conducted over the last two weeks of August, it awarded contracts for the export of 8.6m barrels of Oriente crude and 4.3m barrels of Napo crude. The oil will be exported by the Chinese state-owned company Petrochina and Unipec America, the US subsidiary of another Chinese state company, China International United Petroleum & Chemicals Co., Ltd (Unipec). Petroecuador said that over 30 companies were invited to participate in the bidding process.
