On 28 August Mexico’s outgoing senate president, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, of the ruling left-wing Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), said he had submitted a formal complaint to the attorney general’s office (FGR) after a fistfight broke out during the final session of the permanent commission of congress involving himself and Senator Alejandro Moreno, the president of the opposition Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI).
