In brief: Peru’s GDP growth slows

*Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has announced that the country’s GDP increased by 2.8% in annual terms in the second quarter of this year, and by 0.5% compared with the first quarter in seasonally adjusted terms. This represented a slowdown from Q1 2025, when annual growth was 3.9% and quarterly growth was 0.6%. Year-on-year GDP growth in Q2 was driven by increased private investment (+9.8%), personal spending (+2.9%), and government spending (+3.7%).
