President Claudia Sheinbaum has followed in the footsteps of her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (2018-2024), in many ways. However, in certain key areas, she has taken a different path to her political mentor. One of these is foreign policy. In less than a year in office, President Sheinbaum has attended multiple multilateral forums in several different countries at which she has courted leaders from across the globe and the political spectrum.
