*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has published the latest consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in June at -0.4%, down from 0.2%
in May. The annual inflation rate was 4.1%, down from 4.4% in May. Monthly deflation was registered in six of the 13 categories measured by the INE: clothing and footwear (-6.4%), household goods (-2.0%), food and non-alcoholic drinks (-0.9%), recreation, sports, and culture (-0.8%), diverse goods and services (-0.6%), and information and communication (-0.3%). The steepest monthly price rises were for insurance and financial services, and healthcare, which both rose by 0.7%.
