PARAGUAY: Hacking and data breaches raise cybersecurity concerns

Paraguay’s President Santiago Peña held a launch event on 17 June to trumpet his government’s new 2025-2028 National Cybersecurity Strategy. This plan was reportedly meant to be launched earlier, but the event was delayed amid concern over several security failures in the government’s own systems, including a security breach of the president’s social media, which was hacked on 9 June.
