*Peru’s investment promotion agency (Proinversión) has announced a planned public-private investment project to modernise four ports at an estimated cost of US$580m. The plans would develop the international terminal in the city of Chimbote, Áncash region, with Proinversión seeking US$262m; a new port terminal in Pucallpa, Ucayali region, for US$185m; and two new port terminals in Loreto region for a combined US$132m – one in Sinchicuy, near the regional capital Iquitos, and the other in the town of Saramiriza.
