In brief: International tourism in Mexico down in monthly terms

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has announced that the country received 3.72m international tourists in February, marking a 7.8% annual increase. However, international tourist numbers were down 5.68% from 3.95m in January. Revenue from international tourism rose by 1.0% year-on-year to US$3.0bn, but was down 2.28% from US$3.07bn in January. Overall visitor numbers, comprising international tourists and day-trippers, were up 11.4% year-on-year at 7.38m. However, visitor numbers were down 8.13% from 8.04m in January.
