*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released inflation figures for March, which put monthly inflation at 1.2%, up from 0.4% in February, and annual inflation at 4.4%, up from 4.3% the previous month. The monthly core inflation rate, which excludes items with volatile prices such as food and fuels, was 0.5% in March, significantly lower than the headline rate. In its latest inflation report, the BCP highlighted that inflation in March was mainly driven by a rise in food prices, especially fruits and vegetables, a category which registered a 20.6% increase in prices compared to February.
