*Brazil’s federal oil and gas regulatory agency (ANP) has released its official production figures for February, which showed that monthly oil and natural gas production totalled 4.49m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), up from 4.46m boepd in January. Oil production in February came to 3.49m barrels per day (bpd), up 1.1% from January and 1.2% compared to February 2024, while natural gas production totalled 158.76m cubic metres per day (m
3/d), down 1.2% in monthly terms but up 6.8% year-on-year. The oil field with the highest production figures in February this year was the Tupi field, in the Santos Basin near Brazil’s south-eastern coastline. A total of 760,730 bpd of oil and 38.17m m
3/d of natural gas was produced in the Tupi field. The processing facility with the highest production in February was the Guanabara floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit, in the Mero oil field, also in the Santos Basin.
