In brief: Brazil’s Petrobras lowers diesel prices

*Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras has reduced the average price of its diesel for fuel distributors to R$3.55 (US$0.62) per litre. Taking effect from today (1 April), the price change represents a decrease of R$0.17 per litre since the last diesel price adjustment made at the start of February, when the price was raised by R$0.22 per litre. According to the oil giant’s estimates, this change in the price of diesel for distributors will reduce the price at the pump by R$0.15 per litre. In a press release, Petrobras highlighted that its average price of diesel for distributors has decreased by R$1.45 per litre (-29.0%) in real terms since December 2022.
