Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro lost his third finance minister on 18 March, after Diego Guevara announced that he was stepping down after just three months in the role. Guevara’s exit, which reportedly owes to disagreements with Petro over austerity measures, came on the same day that a senate commission voted to archive the government’s labour reform bill. While the bill was being debated, major demonstrations in support of the reform were held in cities nationwide.
