*Argentina’s electricity regulator, Ente Nacional Regulador de la Electricidad (Enre), has opened an investigation into the causes of a blackout which hit the capital Buenos Aires on 5 March. In a statement, Enre said that the outages were caused by the detachment of two electricity cables which left a combined total of 1.29m people without power. Enre has said that it will impose penalties for the power cut if applicable.
