In brief: Uruguay’s inflation edges up in annual terms

*Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released its consumer price index (IPC) for February, revealing a monthly inflation rate of 0.69%, bringing the annual inflation rate to 5.10%. This compares with monthly inflation of 1.10% in January when the annual rate stood at 5.05%. The categories with the highest monthly inflation rate in February were housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (+2.84%), followed by education (+2.02%) and health (1.34%).
