On 5 March US-based press lobby group Inter American Press Association (Iapa) rejected the previous day’s decision by a Guatemalan appeals court to revoke a measure granting house arrest to prominent journalist José Rubén Zamora, describing it as a “new and alarming violation against freedom of the press and due process in Guatemala”.
