MEXICO: Lower chamber approves ban on planting GM corn
On 25 February Mexico’s lower chamber of congress chamber voted by 409 to 69 in favour of a constitutional reform which prohibits the planting of genetically modified (GM) corn in Mexico, a move which some analysts believe could trigger reprisals from the US.
