In brief: Bolivia’s GDP growth slows in Q3 2024

*Bolivia’s national statistics institute (INE) has announced that GDP grew by 1.30% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2024. This was down from year-on-year growth of 3.82% in the previous quarter and was roughly level with the 1.31% GDP growth recorded in Q1 2024. Accumulated GDP growth during the first three quarters of last year was 2.14%, with the INE highlighting year-on-year growth of 5.49% over this period in the ‘other services’ category (including hospitality services and communal, social, personal & domestic services) and 5.01% growth in the electricity, gas & water sectors. The hydrocarbons sector contracted by 12.87% in annual terms over the same period.
