*Argentina’s government led by President Javier Milei has announced it is transforming the state coal mining company Yacimientos Carboníferos Río Turbio (YCRT) into a “sociedad anónima” (S.A.), or public limited company. In a post on social media, the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, announced that Milei had issued a decree about the YCRT designation, stating that “nothing that should not be state owned will remain in the hands of the state”. The announcement follows the designation of state-owned bank Banco de la Nación Argentina as an S.A. on 19 February.
