In brief: Colombia’s industrial production down in November

*Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has announced that industrial production declined by 0.8% year-on-year in November 2024. This followed a yearly drop of 0.6% in October. Sales of industrial goods were up by 1.1%, while employment in the sector was down by 0.4% compared with November 2023. Of the 39 categories measured by Dane, 23 saw a yearly drop in production, notably pharmaceutical production (-15.2%), coking and oil refining (-7.1%), iron and steel production (-14.1%), and non-metallic mineral products (-5.9%).
