MEXICO | Inflation continues to drop in Mexico. On 9 January Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) released the consumer price index (INPC) for December 2024, showing a monthly inflation rate of 0.38%, down from 0.44% in November. This brings the annual headline inflation to 4.21%, the lowest since early 2021. However, the core inflation index, which excludes volatile items such as food and fuel, was up 0.51%, resulting in a year-on-year rate of 3.65%, up from 3.58% in November.
