*Ricardo Roa, the president of Colombia’s state oil company, Ecopetrol, has announced plans to build “the largest green hydrogen production plant in Latin America”. Roa said that the new production facility, which will be located at Ecopetrol’s refinery in the northern city of Cartagena (Bolívar department), will produce 800 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, and will be funded with a US$28.5m investment. Roa described the announcement as “great news for the country” and a sign that “Ecopetrol has now entered the modern era of clean fuel production”.
