*Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released figures which show that industrial production was down 0.3% year-on-year in September. The report indicates that the yearly decrease owed to drops in manufacturing (-1.1%) and electricity, gas & water (-2.5%) sectors, while mining was up 1.3%. In seasonally adjusted terms, the industrial production index (IPI) was also down 0.3% on the previous month, with the mining index down 0.4%, the manufacturing index down by 0.2%, and the electricity, gas & water index also down by 0.2%.
