*The Dominican Republic’s centre for exportation and investment (CEI-RD), a government body, has released new figures showing that the country’s exports totalled US$1.12bn in August, which it describes as a “record figure”, and up 18.3% on the same month in 2023. According to the CEI-RD, exports were driven by raw gold, cocoa beans, and medical instruments & apparatus.
