*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has announced that 127,684 light vehicles were sold in the domestic market in August, up 11.91% on August 2023. In the first eight months of 2024, 962,870 light vehicles were sold in the domestic market, up 12.18% on the same period in 2023. According to the same report, 352,615 light vehicles were produced in August 2024, up 8.27% on the same month in 2023, while 2.65m light vehicles were produced in the first eight months of the year, up 5.33% on the same period in 2023. As regards exports, 292,670 light vehicles were exported in August 2024, up 1.68% from August 2023, with 2.28m exported in the January-August period, up 7.37% on the same period in 2023.
