*Economic analysts surveyed by Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) have revised down their 2024 GDP growth forecast for Mexico to 1.57%, down from a previous (July) forecast of 1.8%. This is the sixth consecutive month that analysts surveyed by Banxico have lowered their GDP forecast and comes shortly after Banxico also slashed its own 2024 GDP growth forecast in its latest quarterly report, predicting growth of 1.5% down from a previous forecast of 2.4%. The analysts also revised down their growth forecast for 2025 from 1.59% to 1.48%. The same survey showed a slight increase in inflation projections for this year, with analysts predicting that inflation would close the year at 4.69%, up from 4.65% in its previous forecast. However, the forecast for core inflation has been lowered slightly to 3.94% in 2024, down from 4.0%.
