*Panama’s 71-member unicameral legislature has approved the budget for the Panama Canal for fiscal year (FY) 2025 for US$5.62bn, up US$847.1m on the budget approved for the previous fiscal year. The budget envisages that Canal contributions to state coffers will amount to US$2.79bn, up from US$2.47bn in the previous year’s budget.
