*The president of Bolivia’s state hydrocarbon company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, has announced that the delivery of fuel around the country has been resumed, after roadblocks were set up around the country last week amid protests over diesel shortages. Dorgathen said that fuel is being brought in from abroad, with 80 tankers driving into the country from Peru, 50 from Paraguay, and 40 from Argentina. The director of Bolivia’s national hydrocarbons agency (ANH), Germán Jiménez, said yesterday that 40m litres of fuel was ready to be distributed. The roadblocks, which were manned by transport workers, may soon be resumed, with local media reporting yesterday that protests in the eastern department of Santa Cruz had only been paused for a matter of hours.
