Mexico’s PRD in disarray as senate leader quits

Development: On 13 March Senator Miguel Barbosa formally resigned as coordinator of Mexico’s left-wing opposition Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) party in the federal senate after publicly expressing his support for the presidential candidacy of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the leader of the radical left-wing Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party.
