Sugary drinks tax continues to deliver results

Consumption of sugary drinks in Mexico has fallen for the second year running following the introduction of the ‘sin tax’ on highly sugary drinks, introduced in 2014 by the government led by President Enrique Peña Nieto. Public health experts are optimistic about the initiative, but they say more can be done to combat Mexico’s diabetes and obesity epidemic.
