The government led by President Salvador Sánchez Cerén has reacted to El Salvador’s precipitate fall down the annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published by the Berlin-based NGO Transparency International (TI). El Salvador slumped by 23 places to finish in 95th place, tied with Argentina, which had climbed 12 places. Only Mexico fell further.
