Uruguayan government grabs upper hand in union tussle

Development: On 16 January Uruguay’s national employment director, Eduardo Pereyra, revealed that the 10% increase in the national minimum wage announced by the government led by President Tabaré Vázquez meant this was now one of the highest in the region.
